Highlights
A framework of public hygiene and epidemiology is given. Human pathology related to water and sanitation is dealt with, as well as the relation between health and society and environment. Insight is given in the (enormous) contribution of civil engineers to the present excellent state of health.



Study goals

The student will get insight in the consequences of his/her interventions to the public health. The civil engineer who works in the health field has to be able to communicate adequately with health authorities and medical doctors, in The Netherlands as well as abroad.
