In addition

This is just one example of competing perspectives, but there are many other sets of competing perspectives. We will present two examples.

Main takeaways:

  • Try to understand your opponents perspective; is it about facts or rights? Is it factual of moral? About content or game playing? About strategy or operation? About legal or moral issues? And so on.
  • Reframe the debate by using a competing perspective.
  • If you use both a factual and a moral perspective in your frame then it will be more difficult for your opponent to reframe your frame.
