You’re more than halfway through the module, good job! In this subsection, you have learned about how to set up and apply the overall energy balance in different situations. Right now, in module 2, you are already capable of describing small scale situations which occur at home, like boiling water with a gas stove in order to brew tea, as well as on a huge scale, like the energy production at the Three Gorges Dam. And we’re just getting started!

Next subsection will deal with two specific forms of the energy balance. Try to imagine for which two types of energy it might be particularly useful to construct a separate balance.
