6. Unsteady conduction and diffusion
In the previous subsection, we mostly discussed heat and mass transfer on a short time scale. In this section, we will be looking at long-term heating and diffusion.
We will also see how the heat and mass transfer coefficients behave on longer time scales.
At the end of this subsection, you will be able to distinguish between short and long time scales and know how to apply penetration theory and long term permeation.
