1. Microbalances in Transport Phenomena
This first week of “Advanced Transport Phenomena” covers directly an exciting subject: microbalances. Balances are the most important aspects of transport phenomena. Microbalances gives you the opportunity to determine profiles of for example the velocity. It is necessary to use if you want to know the concentration and velocity profile of a plug flow reactor. During this week you learn how to set up and use micro balances (in conjunction with the Law’s of Fourier and Fick). Furthermore, you can solve the differential equations you get if you set up microbalances after practising all exercises of first module.
