Bikes and other forms of slow mobility are increasingly popular among city authorities and citizens alike. In this video, Walter Fraanje will focus on the role of citizens in co-creating political pressure to literally make space for bikes in their cities and discuss how cities respond. You will learn that both citizens and city authorities make efforts to promote bikes as a sustainable, zero-emission form of mobility. However, there are some downsides to using bikes in cities such as the unresolved challenges that are caused by the increasing number of these ‘city bikes’.
