Bike Sharing in Practice

One of the ways that city authorities use to promote cycling is to establish a bike sharing program in their city. Over the last two decades, bike sharing has had an enormous growth spurt and has developed into a important form of urban mobility. In this video, Walter Fraanje will discuss a brief history of bike sharing systems.  He will also highlight some of the factors that are crucial for the further development of these programs into a form of mobility that fits the everyday lives of larger groups of the urban populations.
