Module 1: Working with Single Qubits
To introduce quantum information, we need to start with its fundamental unit, the quantum bit or qubit. In the first part of the course, we will learn about the mathematical formalisms and properties of single qubit states. Arjen Vaartjes will guide you through the basics with the help of a whiteboard and basic examples. You will also find a few text-based sections about relevant topics for quantum information such as expectation values and the no-cloning theorem.
For this module the following topics will be necessary:
You can check the material linked above to refresh your memory or later on during the course if you feel that you need it.
The five sections in this module mark the beginning of our journey through the fundamentals of quantum information. We hope you find these lectures exciting and enlightening!
