Course subject(s)
Module 4. Data Collection & Analysis
- To perform an appropriate and sound interpretation of data, you need to develop statistical literacy, i.e. the ability to interpret and critically evaluate statistical information and communicate and have well-argued discussions about your decisions.
- Statistics are not an aggregation of facts but an instrument to investigate hypotheses.
- Start simple with descriptive statistics and take care of the appropriate statistics relevant to the level of data you have collected.
- Think about effect size and power when you do significance testing.
- Always link back your interpretation to your hypothesis when writing up!
