1.4.1 Heat integration
Course subject(s)
1. Industrial sources of emissions and mitigation options
As was mentioned in the first video, one possible emission mitigation option is process heat integration. In this video, we will address heat integration. Energy used for heating is a major contributor to industrial emissions; using waste heat to decrease utilities’ consumption can therefore be very effective for CO2 emissions mitigation.
Key takeaways:
- Heat integration measures provide significant energy saving potential in a factory
- How to read composite curves
- How to address the appropriate placement of heat integration measures (golden rules of pinch analysis)
