Module 0. Getting Started
Letiane Benincá holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of Passo Fundo (2008) and a Master’s degree in Architecture and Environment from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona (2012). She is dedicated to studying sustainability, energy efficiency and building performance.
In this course, she presents the lectures Urban Impacts, Bioclimatic Architecture, and the Case Study Sustainable Mobility (Curitiba).
Marco Peres is a Law Professional from the Universidad Externado de Colombia. Specialized in Economic Law from the same University. Researcher in legal aspects of electronic commerce at the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law UNIDROIT (Rome, Italy). Delegate as representative of the Colombian government to the Commission and the Electronic Commerce Working Group of the United Nations Commission for International Commercial Law UNCITRAL.
He teaches Legal Considerations in SSC in this course.
Claudia P Santiago Cely is an associate professor at the Faculty of Systems Engineering and Director of the Master’s Degree in Computer Science at the Colombian School of Engineering University. Her research focuses on information security and privacy, cybersecurity, technological architecture, and smart cities.

Luis Daniel Benavides-Navarro is an associate professor in the faculty of Systems Engineering at the Colombian School of Engineering University. His research has focused on the architecture of complex systems, including knowledge-intensive systems, Enterprise Architecture, architecture of information systems, software architecture, distributed systems, and smart cities.

Aurora D. Sanchez is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and Director of the Information Technology Management Research Center at the Business School of Universidad Católica del Norte, in Chile.Her research work is in the areas e-government, Electronic Participation, Smart Cities, and Digital Transformation.
She teaches E-democracy in this course.
Mauricio Solar studied Electronic Civil Engineering at the Federico Santa María Technical University (UTFSM, Chile). Later he studied Master’s and Doctorate in Computing and Systems at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, Brazil). He has a Post-doctorate from the University of Montreal (Canada). He is currently a full-time academic in the Computer Science Department at UTFSM.
He teaches the lecture about SSC-related project management.
Mauricio Araya is a Computer Scientist and M.Sc. At UTFSM. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science at INRIA and is a full-time professor at UTFSM. His main research areas are telematics, machine learning, and HPC systems.
He presents the lecture about IT-development.
José Guerra is an Architect and Director of the School of Architecture of the Universidad Católica del Norte. He directs the Center for Research in Architecture, energy and Sustainability (CIAES) which, as an evaluating Entity, offers Sustainable Building Certification services (CES). His main research areas are architecture and sustainable construction, integration of renewable energies in the architectural envelope and application of passive strategies in the design and management of energy in buildings.

María Alejandra Santamaría is an Industrial Engineer from Universidad de Investigación y Desarrollo – UDI, Colombia. Master’s candidate in information management from Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería Julio Garavito University, Colombia. Her main research areas are Occupational Risks and Tourism in smart territories.
She presents the Case Study Entrepreneurship, Optimism, and Knowledge creation in Medellín.
Guilherme Costa Wiedenhöft is an Associate Professor in Management Information Systems in the Management Graduate Program at the Institute of Economics, Administration and Accounting Sciences at Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) and Visiting Post-doc at the Business School, PUCRS, Brazil. His research focuses on different kinds of Governance (IT, Collaborative and Digital), Organizational Culture, Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Corruption Dissuasion.
He teaches tools to city management in this course.

Lauro André is an Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies Professor at IMED in Passo Fundo/RS. He completed his PhD in the MIT Portugal Program in Sustainable Energy Systems at the University of Coimbra in 2015. He has experience in the area of Sustainability, Social and Environmental Management, Renewable Energies and Energy Policies.
Thaísa Leal da Silva is a Professor at the Postgraduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism (PPGARQ) and at the undergraduate courses in Architecture and Urbanism and Computer Science at Faculdade Meridional (IMED) in Passo Fundo/RS, Brazil. Currently, her research is focused on Smart and Sustainable Cities, emphasizing Energy efficiency, Urban mobility, and Inclusive Architecture.
Peter Parycek is Vice Rector for Teaching/Scientific Continuing Education and Digital Transformation (CDO) at the University for Continuing Education Krems (Danube University Krems) and, University Professor for E-Governance, heads the Department for E-Governance in Business and Administration. Peter Parycek works inter- and transdisciplinarily at the intersection of technical, legal and societal developments. His research focuses on the transformation of the public sector.
Magdalena Ciesielska is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics in Management, Faculty of Management and Economics, Gdansk University of Technology. Her research interests are focused on Governance and management of digital government at the national, sectoral, and local level, open data, the contribution of digital government to sustainable development and other public policy goals, and digital inclusion.
