Module 0. Welcome to Project March: behind the technology of robotic exoskleletons
The “Project MARCH: Behind the technology of exoskeletons” course is live!
People with paraplegia are often bound to a wheelchair for the rest of their life, experiencing the negative mental and physical consequences this brings.
Exoskeletons can change this, by improving the quality of life for these people.
In this course, you will become familiar with many of the aspects regarding exoskeleton technology: from what paraplegia is to the Center of Mass, and from walking patterns to exoskeleton joints. What we intend to teach you, is to appreciate the value of exoskeletons for people with paraplegia, and stimulate you to actively think with us about improvements that are yet to be made in the field.
The workload for the course includes short video lectures, quizzes, assignments, calculations, and reading materials. Of course, we also greatly encourage you to participate in the discussion forums with other students, ask questions, and share links and ideas.
We are excited to teach all of you and learn together. The course is structured into six course weeks, which will gradually become available throughout the course. Good luck with completing the course!
We look forward to your participation in this course!
