A very warm welcome to ‘Façade design and engineering: complexity made simple’

Thank you for joining us. We are thrilled to connect with you, and present to you this course which has been designed by the founding members of TU Delft’s Architectural Façades & Products Research Group, in association with the European Façade Network and Wicona, offered by DelftX. This course will provide a first insight into façades and the technology involved in their construction, from a grounded and practical perspective.

This course focuses on key aspects to address the complexity of façade design and engineering: its general principles, construction systems, details and tolerances, materials, geometrical complexity, sustainability, and construction site processes.

Over the following weeks, you will gain general knowledge of façade engineering, backed with technical information, which will give you the tools to explain façade design decisions and their potential impact on the overall performance of a building. Together, we will look into each of these themes through a combination of videos, documentation of key aspects of façade engineering, and a webinar as a feedback session.

Thank you once again for your interest in this course!

With warm regards,

The Façade Doctors
