This general introduction lecture by Prof Joop Paul explains the concept of seismic risk and the different risk definitions. This lecture also provides insight in the components that contribute to seismic risk and to the computation of this risk. In particular lecture 4.3 – NPR 9998 and lecture 5.1-  Building Stock and Typologies in Groningen elaborate further on seismic risk.
