1.2.1 Energy balance of buildings
In the previous video you learned about general global trends with respect to energy consumption in different sectors and within buildings. In this video, you will learn about energy balance of buildings by understanding the concept of gains and losses and constructing an energy balance for a house in different climates.
- There are different types of heat gains and losses that contribute to the energy balance of a house: transmission losses and gains, ventilations and infiltration, solar heat gains and internal gains.
- Energy balance of a house can be constructed by separating heat exchange into losses and gains.
- Energy balance vary depending on the climate.
