1.3.4 Case study: Hong Kong
Course subject(s)
1. Opening: Global segregation
Welcome to Hong Kong! Prof Mee Kam NG from the Chinese University of Hong Kong will tell us about the challenges of inequality and segregation in this city. You will hear that, although because of the very high population density rich and poor people live close to each other, socio-economic segregation in Hong Kong is high and increasing. According to Prof. Mee Kam, the future depends on people, and whether they passively accept (unwanted) changes or define and protect their own space.
