1.3 Interaction of Radiation with Matter
Course subject(s)
1. Fundamentals of Nuclear Science
In the previous lecture, Dr. Pommé talked about radioactive decay of atoms and particles emitted from it. Now, Dr. Jan Heyse will talk about the interaction of radiation with other materials. He will specifically focus on:
- Types of interactions
- And the effect of different particles on these interactions
Keywords: attenuation coefficient, mean free path , ionization, Photoelectric effect, Compton effect
