Granular material is falling out of a hopper on a horizontal conveyer belt with a mass flow (ϕm). The conveyer belt moves with a velocity V. Suppose we can neglect friction, what is then the force on the belt? What force is needed to move the conveyer belt at the fixed velocity in this situation?
