2.3.2 Challenge

Course subject(s) Module 2 – Your Dream House

The challenge consists of several steps. You might already want to have a look at all the steps in below and in the next units.

STEP 1:

We first ask you to go on a hoarding exploration through your house. Examples could be leftover (wrapping) paper, scrap materials, old packaging, and cheap materials in your kitchen or storage-room. To give you an idea these scrap materials could be things like, spaghetti, cotton buds, cardboard boxes, plastic bags, or wooden coffee stirrers. 

 

STEP 2:
The collected scrap materials will only start to inspire you if you can imagine that they are much bigger, and therefore we need scale figures. These figures will help you to experience the space and should allow you to view the space as if it were at full scale. Can you empathise with this figure and imagine what would make it a good place to live from their perspective?

You can make scale figures with almost any piece of paper or cardboard. Here are some examples:
