Sustainability Politics in Chinese Cities

At this moment in the course, it becomes clear that cities play an essential role in achieving sustainable development through the promotion of sustainable urbanisation. With hundreds of eco-cities, China is considered to be at the forefront of sustainable urban development. This makes the functioning of Chinese eco-cities a truly interesting case study that might shed  light on how to successfully develop sustainable city policies. In the next video, professor at TU DELFT, Marting de Jong, will explain how sustainable urban development takes place in China, with an interesting final plot twist regarding the level of citizen participation present in this ambitious process.
