2.4.1 Introduction to Global warming

Course subject(s) Module 2. Framing essentials

According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), global warming is caused by human activity. It is an extremely dangerous development, which requires global action.  The IPCC is an international body in which scientists from all over the world collaborate.

You are the advisor to John Adams, a politician who agrees with the IPCC. John advocates a drastic reduction in CO2 levels in the coming decades. This requires halting the use of fossil fuels and introducing alternative energy sources on a large scale.

John will have to take part in a debate with another politician, Samantha Johnson, who does not agree with this. You will now watch an earlier appearance of Samantha in a television show.
