Course subject(s) Module 3 – Water & Waste Water: Water as Basic Need

Faecal Sludge Management

In the previous sections, we showed you two key elements of the water chain in Kampala: drinking water provision and sanitation. But there is more to the water chain than this. In the next video, we will discuss the value of human waste in the waste water, as Dr. Katarzyna Kujawa-Roeleveld introduces you to faecal sludge management. She will share with you why it is critical to consider the whole sanitation chain, from excreta collection to safe disposal and or reuse of faecal sludge, to achieve true access to safe sanitation.
