Control is undoubtedly the heart of any AC or DC microgrid. During the coming two weeks, you will learn in detail about the control in microgrids. In this week, we start with the local control in microgrids. In this video, you will first learn how the hierarchical control is implemented in traditional power systems. Then, we introduce four key control layers of a microgrid. We will also discuss smaller scale grids, like nano-grids and pico-grids.
