A WWTP is retrofitted, changing from a surface aerator to fine bubble aeration with disk aerators in the activated sludge tanks.

  • Which processes need oxygen in a low loaded activated sludge plant, treating municipal sewage?
  • Describe at least two possible reasons to retrofit a WWTP with new aerators.
