5.1.1 Intro video – Models in Architecture

Course subject(s) Module 5 – Scale and Detail

There is always something interesting to see in our scale model workshop, and this week Martijn shows some results from an MSc elective course called ‘The Delta Shelter’. The course is about designing a summer house on an island in the Venetian Lagoon in Italy. Similar to this course, the students develop their dream house on the basis of sketch models, contextual models, and detailed models.

At a certain stage in the process, it is important to step back from what you have produced and to look at what could be improved. This is the aim of the fifth week.

This module’s theory section covers several techniques that you can use when looking at and analysing your models. We will also elaborate on how you can combine the three scales we have used to make complementary visuals and to build a presentation story.
