Many NGOs and CBOs (Community Based Organizations) have tried to mitigate the air quality issues that result from charcoal cooking by developing improved cooking stoves and new types of charcoal briquettes. The uptake of these alternatives remains limited however. In the following video, dr. Patience Mguni will ask Agnes Naluwagga from the Centre for Research in Energy and Conservation (CREEC, Kampala) to give her thoughts on why these solutions fail to generate the intended results.
