The Practice of Charcoal Cooking
In the following video, dr. Patience Mguni will reflect with dr. Bas van Vliet on what we have seen in Kampala so far. She will explain how charcoal cooking is embedded as a practice in an energy nexus that also involves charcoal sellers, distributers, and producers. Moreover, she highlights the non-economic factors that play a role in the limited success of alternative cooking technologies, and she will confront some of the complexities that are involved in a transition towards sustainable cooking practices in East Africa.
