So far we have measured the J-V characteristics of a solar cell under illuminated conditions. In this video you will learn that we can also measure the J-V characteristics of a solar cell in the dark. The dark J-V curve can be used to determine characteristics such as the activation energy and mobility gap of a thin film silicon solar cell.
