Introduction step 5

Course subject(s) Step 5. Scenario analysis

Step 5: Scenario analysis

We have made the problem explicit and identified many different potential solutions for our problem situation. Now it is time to come to decision about what to do to solve the problem. We need to do to things for this.

First, how will our problem situation possibly look like in the future? Are there any trends or changes we need to take into account before making a decision on the solution? We need to design scenarios. If we would not do this, we might choose something that solves the problem today but not in the future.

Second, we need to make very explicit what the effects are if any of the potential solutions will be implemented. Only by doing this we can compare the effect of the different potential solutions and, thus, make a decision about what to do.
