S05 – Dimensioning of sewer network

Course subject(s) S05 – Dimensioning of sewer network

In this lecture, ass. prof. Ten Veldhuis explains how the diameters of pipes in a sewer netwerk are determined.
Sewer networks can be divided into branched and looped networks. First the calculation method for branched networks are explained, followed by the methods for looped networks, including Hardy-Cross.
In the second part of the lecture an example network is given for which flows are determined and pipe dimensioning is showed, followed by variation of pipe diameters.
