introduction banner

A very warm welcome to Building Inclusive Cities!

In cities all over the world levels of inequality are increasing, and the gap between the rich and the poor is widening. These rising levels of inequality have major consequences for the social sustainability of cities. They lead to unequal life chances depending on where in the city you grow up and live. Inequality results in segregation, and this is a worrying trend as it leads to unequal opportunities regarding education, work, and income. Inequality and segregation then become a vicious circle.

In this course, you will learn how urban design can help to break this circle.

Our team consists of human geographers and urban designers from TU Delft, which ensures that this course provides you with a perfect blend of knowledge from the social sciences and urban design.

Let’s start this wonderful journey!
