Module 0: Welcome to Fundamentals of Quantum Information
Dear learners,
Welcome to the first part of the Program Quantum 201: Quantum Computing and Quantum Internet.
Now that you have concretely seen how to build a quantum computer in Quantum 101, it is important to formally introduce the theory of quantum information, which underlies all hardware platforms. In particular, in this course, you will learn how to construct, manipulate, and measure quantum states, harnessing uniquely quantum effects such as superposition and entanglement in clever quantum circuits and algorithms. In the next Course, “Quantum Error Correction & Algorithms” (coming soon), you will learn how imperfect hardware can still be used to build a functional quantum computer. By completing both parts, you will have a solid foundation in the theory of quantum information and fault tolerance.
Please note: this is an advanced course. In order to get the most from this course we suggest that you firstly follow the previous courses:
- The Quantum Internet and Quantum Computers: How Will They Change the World? – Beginner level
- The Hardware of a Quantum Computer – Intermediate level, part 1 of Quantum 101
- Architecture, Algorithms, and Protocols of a Quantum Computer and Quantum Internet – Intermediate level, part 2 of Quantum 101
We hope you enjoy the course with us!
Kind Regards,
The QuTech Academy Team
