The energy systems and the power grids of the world are undergoing a rapid transition. The energy technologies of the future will be shaped by automation and integration, driven by digitalization and wide-scale use of computational intelligence. As energy has become an indispensable part of our lives today, this transition will affect every aspect of our lives – from the technology we use every day, to our jobs and the job market, to business operations in multiple sectors, to economic policies and governance strategies. A holistic understanding of the transition in energy systems is required to realize the fully sustainable society of the future.
The program Intelligent and Integrated Energy Systems caters to this requirement providing unique and multi-disciplinary insights on understanding, designing, planning, and operating intelligent and integrated energy systems in the rapidly evolving energy sector. The program focuses on four main aspects of the energy systems of the future:
- Technology
- Digitalization
- Policy and Governance
- Innovations for Sustainable Business,
each treated in a separate course. On completion of the program, the learner would have a superior, up-to-date understanding of the energy transition in energy systems from multiple perspectives.
This program is created by a team of professors from the Delft University of Technology and the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, together with industry experts at the forefront of the revolution.
