We’re very happy to have you ‘on board’ for this course on Sustainable Aviation!

This introduction will give you some information on what to expect in the coming modules.

Course set-up

This course will consist of six modules:

• In module 1 you will be given an introduction to aviation, and how it impacts the environment.
• In module 2, we will look at how aircraft function in more detail, and will consider the propulsion systems.
• In module 3, we will address the propulsion systems in more detail, as well as the energy carrier, like fuel or batteries, to power them.
• In module 4, we will dive deeper into novel aircraft design.
• In module 5, the design, production and lifecycle of an aircraft will be discussed.
• In module 6 we will conclude the course with a more in-depth look at airport and airline operations.

In each section, you will be presented with a few lectures. Some of the modules will feature some bonus content, showcasing real-world examples of the theory we cover.
