1.1.1 Business Model Metrics and Advanced Tools Introduction
Course subject(s)
Module 1 – Introduction
Welcome to our last course from our Business Model xSeries: Business Model Metrics and Advanced tools!
Before we begin, we’d like to remind you that this is the most advanced course of our series. If you have not followed any of our previous courses, we advise you to check those out first, before beginning this course. They are now all running as self-paced courses. You can find an overview of our previous courses here.
In our previous courses we have shown you how to design, test and implement your business model. In this course, we will give you a set of advanced tools that can help to develop your business model even further and to connect and align the BM more easily with your IT-environment.
We will do this by first showing you what the implications are of using different ways of working: structured design thinking with a focus on Enterprise Architecture (EA) versus agile working. Next, we will give you a more in-depth look into the operating model in combination with the VIP framework which was discussed in previous courses, or with alternatives to VIP. After this, we will show you how you can use modeling languages such as UML for business model implementation. Finally, we will discuss enterprise architecture in more detail and the relationship with business models to further enhance the business logic of your company.
What you will learn:
- Be able to make an informed choice between working in a structured way with a focus on your Enterprise Architecture or working in an agile way when designing your business model;
- Implement value, information and operational processes with the operating model of your ecosystem;
- Link your operating models to network-based enterprise architecture thinking.
