Course subject(s) Module 2. Switching to EV Fleets

Welcome to module 2 of this course. In this module we will discuss the factors that influence decisions of businesses to shift their vehicle fleets from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to electric vehicles. The module provides insights into the different fleets that can be considered, varying from passenger’s cars to heavy duty trucks and buses. It also explains the difference in adoption pace between these segments. A detailed comparison of the economics of ICE and Electric vehicles is explained using the concept of Total Cost of Ownership. In the last two lectures the focus is on managing the fleets once purchased looking at controlling the financial and non-financial issues.

The module ends with a case study from Royal Haskoning DHV, an engineering company which switched their fleet to full electric vehicles. The case provides additional insights into the economical and practical implications.

And now, let’s dive straight into the content. We hope you have a successful learning experience!
