2.2.1 Introduction to Propulsion

Course subject(s) Module 2. Propulsion and Braking

Let’s have a look at the propulsion of the Hyperloop Pod. Presenting this topic to you is Bas, who was a Propulsion Engineer in the second Delft Hyperloop team. Considering the many different levitation options we visited last week, there are various acceleration options we could use. Some are familiar and used in current day vehicles and others are more exotic and are on the cutting edge of technology. Although not imposed in any way, some propulsion concepts work better with different levitation concepts. So please keep that in mind when watching the first video of this week. Don’t feel limited as there might be more possible than you’d initially think.
