Be clear about the purpose of your study: Are you interested in describing a field or phenomena, are you interested in an analysis of a process or specific outcomes of a process?
Specify your conceptual model, the independent and dependent variables as also their relations.
Ensure that the variables and your expectations about their interactions are described in your research questions.
Ensure that your sampling approach is also dependent on ethical considerations and the application context.
