Introduction to Formative and Summative Evaluations

Young chef

Simply spoken, formative and summative evaluations are like cooking a meal. When you taste it while cooking, it is formative and after you have served the meal and your guests taste it, it is summative.

Formative studies help you to shape your approach, product, research while summative studies more look at the effect and the outcome of application or usage.
