Arjan Wargers

 

Arjan Wargers is a Manager of Innovation for Electric Mobility at Enexis Group since 2018. Enexis is a DSO responsible for the distribution of gas and electricity for several regions in the Netherlands. Arjan is also a Manager for Research and Innovation at ElaadNL, another Dutch DSO that specializes in smart and sustainable charging of electric vehicles, since 2010. Arjan has been a major driving force for research and development at ElaadNL. Arjan specializes in project planning, integration of electric vehicles with renewable energy, and several other innovations concerning electric mobility at Elexis and ElaadNL. Since 2010, he has focussed on advanced technologies of electric vehicles such as EV charging, smart charging, and charging protocols.

Since March 2022, Arjan is also a board member of the FlexiblePower Alliance Network (FAN), an organization that develops open, fair, and flexible energy systems with sustainability and optimization as its key objectives. FAN aims to develop its network across Europe to create a sustainable, balanced future for energy systems integrated with clean, renewable energy.

Previously, Arjan has also worked at Cogas corporation, specializing in the massive rollout of smart metering components. Arjan has also worked at Engie in a financial role.

Arjan obtained his Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Groningen in 2001 and his Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from the Saxion University of Applied Sciences in 1999.
