4.2.2 (Optional) Readings on providing input
Course subject(s)
Module 4. Making the Exoskeleton Smart
As providing input is (relatively) easy to understand as a subject, a few articles have been written on how this happens in various exoskeletons. If you’re interested in this topic, here are some readings you can check out! Some of the articles even contain interesting videos. We’ve also added one more academic paper on the subject, which was written by one of our own Project MARCH engineers.
Readings (articles)
- Although it only mentions the input device briefly, this reading on the TWIICE exoskeleton mentions an extra aspect to giving input. The reading covers the aspect of remote control and refers back to some concepts you have learned about last week.
- Interested in brain-controlled exoskeletons? Check out this video on the MindWalker. It covers everything from pilot to design to input.
- We ourselves do not understand Portuguese either, however, you do not need to understand the language to appreciate the awesomeness of the video on this page. It shows another example of brain-controlled exoskeletons.
Readings (academic)
One of the Human Machine Interaction engineers at Project MARCH has written a paper covering other potential input and feedback methods for exoskeletons. Curious? You can click here to download the paper as a pdf.
