4.2.3 Using Statistical Analysis Software JAMOVI
Course subject(s)
Module 4. Data Collection & Analysis
To get a feel on how to deal with quantitative data, we would like you to practice with a statistical package. However, licenses for statistical packages are expensive and not all Open Source initiatives are equally accessible. This is why we have chosen to use an Open Source Statistical Platform developed on top of R. You can find out more about the JAMOVI project on their website.
In the next section, we will demonstrate how to analyse quantitative data. So please go ahead and install Jamovi on your computer now. You may already have another statistical package installed but we will be using the standard library files of JAMOVI to demonstrate some of the analysis.
There are versions for Windows, Mac OS, Linux and ChromeOS.
If you cannot install JAMOVI, rest assured there is also a cloud based version (although still under development). This only works in Chrome and Firefox browsers. Click on the “Try our online Demo” button on the Jamovi website.
Under resources – tab on the Jamovi website you can find manuals and other resources.
