4. Reporting your findings
Components of a report
Now that we have discussed the chapters of a report, let us move on to the remaining components. These pages make a report into a whole and navigable work:
- a title page,
- a table of contents,
- a list of variables,
- a bibliography,
- one or more appendices.
These components have rather standardized formats, and are generally completed after writing the main text. In this unit, you will learn what they should look like, and what information they ought to contain.
A template for your report
You can use the following template to get an idea of the structure of your final report. The PDF version gives the final product, while the tex version can be edited. More information on LateX will be provided in Section 4.6.
You can download a template for your report here: Template_Latex_Report.tex.
You need a photo as well: Rainbowfish1000x774.jpg
When you compile this template, the result is: Template_Latex_Report.pdf.
We start this section at the very first page of your report: the title page.
