The Neighbourhood Scale

This module will focus on creating inclusive neighborhoods and public spaces. The way the city is designed for and experienced by specific groups in their everyday environment strongly relates to design decisions on other scale levels and vice versa. Based on several case studies, you will learn how to understand areas and the design of different public spaces within neighborhoods.

We will emphasize the effects of changing physical connectivity and social mobility on the neighborhood and public space, and introduce approaches and strategies to design for different places and people with diverse backgrounds.
