5.2.3 The correct Eye-Level

Course subject(s) Module 5 – Scale and Detail

When you make eye-level views of a model, it is important to get the right positioning. This means that you should use a standard lens and match the height of a person in the model. A view that is taken a bit higher already looks different and it is more difficult to check if the design works spatially and to feel immersed in the scene.

Below image 4 has the right eye level. But is it the best?

Each of these four images contains some good aspects and some flaws. It is good to be critical and go for the one that gives the best impression of the space and atmosphere. Use the Discussion thread below to share your ideas about these and other model pictures. By commenting on the images you will also become more critical towards your own images and this might help you to improve during the practical challenge for this week.
