5.1.1 Overview Laminar flow
Course subject(s)
5. Laminar flow
In this week, you will be introduced to laminar flow of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. Water is, for example, a Newtonian fluid and peanut butter is a non-Newtonian fluid.
You will learn how to determine the shear stress profile and the velocity profile using momentum balances of these flowing fluids. These include, for example, flows influenced by a moving wall, the force of gravity or a pressure gradient in both straight and cylindrical constructions.
