Prof. Rob van Hees
Rob van Hees is professor of Building Conservation at TU Delft and senior scientist at TNO – Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research. His main fields of interest are durability of materials, conservation techniques and compatibility of new and ancient materials. He is member of a large number of research and standardization committees (NEN, CEN), active in RILEM, ICOMOS and chairs the WTA-NL-VL, as well as the Netherlands Central Body of Experts on Restoration Quality. In addition, he is a researcher and coordinator of research projects in the field of Cultural Heritage within the EU Framework Programs. For the EU he was involved in the evaluation of the interventions in San Francesco in Assisi after the earthquake in 1997 and he was a member of the scientific board for the JPI on Cultural Heritage.
