When initiating a building adaptation, it is important to first understand the spatial-economic context of the city the building is situated in. This understanding can be reached by analyzing urban development (related) policies and real estate markets.

In this Urban Development Policies and Markets module you are introduced to some policy and market features you can analyze when initiating a building adaptation, by watching the video lecture. Also, you will conduct a short sustainability, resilience and planning policy analysis, and real estate market analysis for the city of Rotterdam. By doing so, you will better understand the context and opportunities for redeveloping the Schiekadeblok area.
