As our course comes to an end, we would like to give you a glimpse into the way knowledge of urban freight systems can be developed. In this week, we will learn:

• to identify the types and sources of data needed to construct a scientific understanding of urban freight systems,
• to understand various modelling techniques and underlying principles, and
• to apply the knowledge in a small real-world assignment.

At the end of the module, there is a small modelling assignment that we have prepared to illustrate what work is needed to develop a network model, and what it can achieve.
