5.4.1 Key Takeaways and Reflection ‘Program Management’

Course subject(s) Module 5. Program Management

Key takeaways

At the beginning of the module six learning objectives were introduced, you can find them below. Go through the key takeaways and see if you have done or learned these elements correctly and feel that you have understood the core message of this module.

  • To understand the intricacies of bringing together water safety, governance and spatial quality aspects into one integrated program with a long temporal horizon

In this module, all elements of all modules came together and this is the essence of program management. All these different pieces of a multi-layered puzzle have to come together and fall into the right place. In the case of the rivers in this course, you have been introduced to hydrological, governance and spatial quality aspects. One thing that is important to take away from this module is when starting such a project you set an objective for the program and you try to stick to it. Within the parameters of your objective you go and search for a fitting solution and this way try to create a succesful program.
